The secret drink to spice up your love life - Kombucha tea.

Updated: Apr 12

My Journey with Kombucha tea:

I first had a sip of this fermented vingerated tea at my friend's place. I had gone to see her and she offered me something to drink, she swore want I tasted it I will want some more. She gave me a cold glass of this drink and asked can you get what it is. She said she made it herself, and I could see she was proud. It didn't taste like lemonade, it tasted a bit weird and almost sour or like it had vinegar in it. I gave up, I couldn't guess and I asked curiously what the drink was before I could even finish it. Because, at that point I felt a bit nervous, I knew she wouldn't intentionally poison me, but that drink tasted like it has gotten rotten a bit. But she gave me a naughty smile and said: "I think you should finish it, and then go be with your fiance this evening, and come back to me tomorrow to thank me for giving you that drink". I laughed, I knew that mischeveous look, I knew she wanted me to experience something. I said okay, I will be with him today. Even thoughI was tired, I was coming from work and had planned to just have an early night in. I decided let me just amuse my friend as she had asked and have some S*E*X with my fiance. I cannot begin to describe how that evening went, the guy was on some cloud nine ish even I have never seen before.

I was shocked to say the least, I went back the next day and asked what in the world had she made me drink and why did it make my man scream with joy like that? And then she showed me, this bucket that has an amoeba looking like large piece of something which I later found out it is referred to as a Kumbucha Scoby. She told me about the process of making that drink, that you make green tea in a large container and you place in the scoby and then after 2 weeks the tea that is there, is now the Kombucha drink. She offered to cut some of her scoby and give me some to ferement my own tea, but I politely declined the offer because as much as I had seen it magic the night before, I didn't know how safe it actually was. And I needed to do some own research, and I was suprised at the amazing benefits it was said to have, but the part about steamy hot sessions is not listed as one of those benefits, but for me and my friend, it definetly did do something in that department. I have been taking it for 3 months now, obviously not every day because some days I forget to drink it, but below is what I have experienced since I started drinking it:

  1. My bowel movement is more regular now - I used to suffer from constipation and bloatinng, since I have started drinking kombucha tea this has improved significantly.

  2. My menstrual cramps are gone - Though I cannot vouch for it completely because along with drinking the tea, I have also made some other diet changes. I eat a plant-based diet now so that could be that too

  3. My punani smells great - Haha I know it sounds weird and TMI, but it is true. I can skip a bath in the morning and come evening the punani is not smelling bad. I know don't skip showers:) Also my yeast problem is gone, and we know how irritating yeast infections can be, so I am happy with this drink. I am currently single right now, so I cannot test it again to see if it helps with the libido or steamy sex anymore.

So what is Kombucha tea?

Definition - Kombucha is a sweet to sour fizzy fermented tea. It contains high level of probiotic bacteria and may have numerous health benefits. Probiotic bacteria are what is known as the good bacteria, they are found in your body and may aid in specific functions of the body as well. Like the good bacteria in your stomach, they aid in digestion.

Possible Health benefits of drinking Kombucha Tea:

Even though there is still more scientifc research that is needed to confirm all the health benefits that Kombucha offers, and I am going to be a conspiracy theorist and say I belive not alot of research will be done because there is potentially loss of money should people start fermenting their own probiotics kombucha tea at homes.

If you follow the Dr. Sebi diet just like I did when I was starting out my healing journey, please note Kombucha is not on that list and is not allowed. But, I have said this before on another blog post that at first it is wise to follow Dr. Sebi's rules, to the tee. However, as you grow and evolve your body will tell you what it needs. Not want but need. And you follow that, we are all unique.
